- The Assemblies of God Church has taken a punitive measure against its topmost member, Chidi Okoroafor - Okoroafor, until his sack on Friday, March 6, was the General Superintendent of the famous church - The church's general committee which reached the decision based their judgment on reports of adultery between Okoroafor and a woman, Maurrissal Nwosu General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Rev Chidi Okoroafor, has been sacked by the leadership of the church over allegations of adultery with a US-based Nigerian woman, Maurrissal Nwosu. Okoroafor's sack was decided upon by the church's general committee during its emergency meeting on Friday, March 6, PM News reports. The head of the committee, Rev Isaac Mpamugo, held that the sacked religious leader, contrary to Christian principles and doctrines, had an adulterous relationship with Nwosu.
With his office taken over by one Rev Ejikeme EJim, Okoroafor has been ordered by the panel to relinquish all properties of the church in his possession.
However, a principal member of the church who refused to reveal his identity, claimed that Okoroafor was sacked without a fair hearing.
