Three days ago, we got wind of the coming of an Hausa man to Oju from Kano in the night. I confirmed the story from Hausa Quarter with an additional discovery that the man even came in sick. He said he has fever but instead of going to hospital, he stayed in the mosque then I started contacting the relevant authorities from Oju up to Makurdi. I alerted the security agencies. Some of our leaders told me they have in turn alerted the Benue State Government. Today is the third day. The sick man is still in their mosque here in Oju. Madam Chairman knows about the development with all the members of her COVID-19 Committee but we are yet to see them attend to the case.
The Youth of Igede wants the world to know that we are not comfortable with the new Hausa man that came in from Kano sick. If in the next few hours, the government of Madam Alicia Eru and her Committe fails to attend to this case with proper investigation into finding the kind of fever that the man came in with and holistically trace all his contacts if necessary, we shall commit the lives of Igede people into her hands. Coronavirus does not know anybody.
Meanwhile, while we wait for the state government to act on this information, residents of Oju and even Obi are hereby advised to play safe around Hausa Quarters henceforth. Lovers of shoe shinning should shine their shoes themselves for now in Oju.
BE CAREFUL MORE THAN EVER, ITS FOR OUR COMMON GOOD !
